In 2017–2022, Estonia and Poland are celebrating the centenary of the Republic of Estonia and the restoration of Poland’s independence, as well as diplomatic relations between the two countries. This has provided an occasion to take a look at the past and present of interrelations between these nations.

The current volume discusses common topics in Polish and Estonian history and culture from the sixteenth to twentieth century and provides insights into their political co-operation today. Contributions from academic scholars and active diplomats highlight the need for joint activities in investigating common traces in history as well as political collaboration to promote security and prosperity in Europe.
