This richly illustrated popular science book gives an overview of the history of the University of Tartu Botanical Garden, its open-ground and greenhouse collections, and the beautiful plants of the botanical garden, presented with photos and short texts. The location of the plant collections in the botanical garden is shown on the map included in the book. Alongside the collection of living plants, the botanical collections of the University of Tartu Natural History Museum are presented to the general public for the first time. These collections include Estonia’s most extensive herbarium of world plants and the oldest samples of Estonia’s native plants – all in all, over 323,000 herbarium sheets. The beautiful plant photos in the book please the eyes and invite the reader to come and see the collections. The book is in Estonian and English.
